On 28 June 2023, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, hosted a welcoming dinner in honour of H.E. Mr. Wang Weizhong, Governer of Guangdong Province during his visit to Thailand between 27 - 30 June 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries and executives of the Board of Investment and Thai companies with significant investments in Guangdong also joined the welcoming dinner.

Both sides took this opportunity to reflect upon the close ties between Thailand and Guangdong, and exchanged views on deepening cooperation in areas of mutual needs and expertise, particularly renewable and clean energy as well as green industries. They welcomed the future prospects for continued expansion of direct investment between one another and expressed their support in taking care of their respective investors.

This was Mr. Wang’s first visit to Thailand after his assumption to the office as Governor of Guangdong Province in January 2023 and also the first overseas visit of Guangdong’s Governor in three years since the COVID-19.
