9 July 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 2nd Meeting of the Consultation Mechanism between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and China, with H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.

Both Ministers agreed to further enhance bilateral ties and cooperation to foster tangible benefits in all areas, including trade of agricultural products, especially export of live cattle, building a sustainable investment partnership, especially in targeted industries, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, especially between second and third tier cities, security cooperation, as well as prepare for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Furthermore, both sides also discussed cooperation in multilateral forum, such as ASEAN and MLC. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues, and agreed on the importance of cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region.
