On 1 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador of Thailand to Israel, and General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces, and the Thai delegation arrived at Al-Shamir Medical Center in Tel Aviv to visit the five recently released Thai hostages: Watchara Sriaoun, Pongsak Thaenna, Sathian Suwannakham, Surasak Rumnao and Bannawat Saethao.
The Foreign Minister inquired about the released hostages' physical and mental well-being. They expressed their gratitude to the Minister for his efforts in coordinating with the relevant parties, which ultimately led to their successful release, and extended their appreciation to the Minister and the Thai delegation for traveling from Thailand to personally visit them at the Al-Shamir Medical Center. The released hostages confirmed that they were in good health and had been under close medical supervision by Israeli doctors.
The Foreign Minister was relieved and pleased upon learning that the five Thai hostages were in good physical health and stable mental condition. He reassured them that they would be returning to Thailand once the medical team had thoroughly assessed their health to ensure their safety. The Minister also shared the good news that their family members would be traveling from Thailand to Tel Aviv to visit them and personally accompany them back home.
