Minister of Foreign Affairs represents the Prime Minister at the 15th ASEAN – United Nations Summit

On 27 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in attending the 15th ASEAN – United Nations Summit on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting exchanged views on ways to advance cooperation between ASEAN and the United Nations, with both ASEAN and the United Nations having adopted a new Plan of Action to Implement the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership between ASEAN and the United Nations (2026 - 2030) and endorsed the Complementarities Initiative 2.0, which was initiated by Thailand in collaboration with the UNESCAP to advance regional SDGs implementation in the ASEAN region.

The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to multilateralism and rules-based international order; expressed Thailand’s readiness to cooperate with the United Nations to scale up humanitarian assistance to Myanmar and push forward cooperation in addressing online scams. Thailand also expressed readiness to convene an international conference to foster holistic international cooperation in combatting online scams.
