Minister of Foreign Affairs holds a discussion with Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand

On 3 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a discussion with H.E. Mr. Issa Abdullah Jaber Al Alawi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand.

The Foreign Minister expressed sincere appreciation to the Omani side for assisting the 20 Thai crew members on the vessel “Mayuree Naree” and requested further support in towing the vessel, which ran aground in Iranian waters, as well as bringing the human remains found on board ashore for identification and repatriation to Thailand.

Both sides discussed the ongoing situation in the Middle East, and explored cooperation between Thailand and Oman to enable essential Thai cargo vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz at the earliest opportunity. They also agreed that all parties should return to diplomacy and dialogue to de-escalate the situation in the region as soon as possible.
