Minister of Foreign Affairs briefs the Diplomatic Corps and International Organizations on his recent diplomatic engagements

On 27 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, briefed members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations in Thailand on his recent diplomatic engagements.

The Foreign Minister held meetings with counterparts and international organizations, including UNESCO, and delivered a statement at the High-Level Segment of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), during his visit to France and Switzerland, respectively, on 23 - 24 February 2026. The visit aimed to promote bilateral cooperation, advance cultural initiatives, and exchange views on multilateral cooperation and regional developments, as well as to present Thailand’s notable progress in human rights—particularly efforts to combat online scams that impact human rights. The Minister also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the ceasefire and emphasized de-escalation and confidence-building regarding the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.

The Foreign Minister further briefed on the outcome of the meeting with H.E. U Than Swe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, on 18 February 2026 in Phuket, where they discussed the proposed idea of calibrated re-engagement between ASEAN and Myanmar, Thailand’s support for peace process in Myanmar, as well as cooperation on cross-border challenges.

The briefing was attended by 83 members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations in Thailand, representing 62 countries, as well as the European Union, and two international organizations.
