On 14 November 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the bilateral meeting between H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mrs. Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, President of the Republic of Peru, during the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Lima.

Both leaders exchanged their congratulations as Thailand and Peru will celebrate their 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to resume negotiations on Thailand-Peru Free Trade Agreement, with a view to conclude the agreement by next year. They also discussed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in alternative development, tourism, health, as well as Thailand's soft power popular in Peru, including Muay Thai, movies, series, and T-POP.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on strengthening multilateral cooperation, particularly APEC and ASEAN frameworks.
