On 12 November 2025, Ambassador Tharit Charungvat, Secretary-General of the Thailand Foundation, delivered welcoming remarks to participants of the 7th Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP7). The program, organized by the Thailand Foundation on 12–13 November, aimed to provide useful and engaging information about various aspects of Thailand, the Thai people, and Thai identity to foreigners living and working in Thailand. Attendees included diplomats, representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as businesspersons, among others.
The Expatriate Orientation Program, a biannual initiative, serves as a practical 'quick-start manual' for expatriates and their families. By offering valuable insights from renowned experts across various fields, the program is specifically designed to enhance participants' professional effectiveness and personal integration, ensuring a more successful, enjoyable, and memorable experience of life in Thailand. The comprehensive agenda featured eight expert-led sessions: (1) "Prism of Thainess: Approaching Thai Society from the Perspective of Thai Values" by Mr. Jonas Anderson; (2) "Thailand in Brief Historical Perspective" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dhiravat na Pombejra; (3) "Buddhism in the Mindset and the Ways of Life of the Thai People" by Dr. Phibul Choompolpaisal; (4) "Discovering the Four Regions of Thailand by Rails" by Mr. Richard Barrow; (5) "Thai Economy: Thriving in Global Uncertainties" by Dr. Amonthep Chawla; (6) "Appreciating Arts Around You in Thailand" by Mr. Rolf Von Bueren; (7) "Decoding Bangkok" by Mr. Philip Cornwel-Smith; and (8) "Finding Your Lifestyles in Thailand" by Mr. Daniel Fraser. The program concluded with closing remarks by Ambassador Charungvat.
