On 7 December 2021, H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichakij, Ambassador of Thailand to Cuba with residence in Mexico City presented copies of the Letters of Credentials to H.E. Ms. Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. The two sides also had a bilateral meeting in which they expressed determination to work closely to further strengthen Thailand-Cuba relations in various areas including economic, culture and public health, especially in the fight against COVID-19. In this connection, they hoped for the quick conclusion of the pending agreement/MoUto promote cooperation on the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as cooperation on sports, music, arts and tourism.

They also agreed on jointly organizing activities to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Thailand-Cuba diplomatic relations in 2023, one of which as proposed by the Ambassador is the organisation of the 2nd Thai-Cuba Political Consultation Meeting in Thailand. The Ambassador also reiterated Thailand's continued support for Cuba on a UN General Assembly resolution on Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba, for which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba expressed sincere appreciation. She also stressed Cuba’s commitment to strengthening ties with Thailand as well as other ASEAN countries, given that Cuba has recently become the signatory to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
