The President of the Republic of Cuba conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister of Thailand, and expressed his appreciation for Thailand’s support for a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Resolution on the Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial and Financial Embargo Imposed by the United States of America Against Cuba.

He was also pleased with the existing cooperation between Thailand and Cuba on public health and expressed his commitment to strenghtening bilateral trade and investment as well as coopration in other areas of mutual interest.

On this occasion, the Ambassador reiterated Thailand’s continued support for the UNGA Resolution, Thailand’s determination to further enhance cooperation on public health and COVID-19 vaccines with Cuba, and a plan to jointly organize activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cuba in 2023.

After meeting with the President, the Ambassador went to lay a wreat in front of the Statute of Jose Marti, Cuba’s national hero who fought for Cuba's independence from Spain, at the Plaza de la Revolucion.
