On 2 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a working lunch in honor of H.E. Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, on the occasion of his participation in the official visit to Thailand of H.E. Mr. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, to attend the 5th Thailand - Singapore Leaders’ Retreat.

Both sides discussed key issues, namely (1) the future direction of Thailand - Singapore relations; (2) the advancement of cooperation within the ASEAN framework during the Chairships of Singapore and Thailand in 2027 and 2028, respectively, particularly in the areas of the digital economy, energy security, and combatting online scams; and, (3) key regional and global issues, such as the situation in Myanmar, the Thailand – Cambodia situation, as well as major powers relations and their impacts on the region.
