Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to accompany the Prime Minister on an official visit to Malaysia

H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to accompany H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on an official visit to Malaysia during 9 - 10 July 2026 at the invitation of Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
 
This visit is the Prime Minister’s first official visit to Malaysia since assuming office, reflecting the close ties between the two neighbouring countries with longstanding relations and multifaceted cooperation. Thailand and Malaysia will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.
 
The Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia to further enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, including security and development of border areas, trade and investment, people-to-people relations as well as cooperation at the ASEAN level.
 
Both Prime Ministers will also jointly preside over the opening ceremony of the road linking the new CIQ Sadao - ICQS Bukit Kayu Hitam, which is an important project that reaffirms Thailand and Malaysia’s shared commitment to promoting seamless border connectivity to facilitate cross-border movements of goods and people, which will benefit the economy of the border areas of both countries.
