On 31 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a visit to the Padang Besar Customs House on the sidelines of the Mobile Cabinet Meeting No. 1/2026 in Songkhla Province.

The Deputy Prime Minister reviewed overall management and operations at the Padang Besar Customs House and attended a briefing on the operational challenges and obstacles at the border checkpoint. He also discussed ways to enhance service efficiency, with a view to facilitating cross-border travel and the movement of goods, in order to promote trade, connectivity, and economic activities along the Thailand - Malaysia border.
