On 8 June 2023, His Excellency Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, held a bilateral meeting with 
His Excellency Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon the invitation 
of His Excellency the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

The OIC Secretary General expressed his satisfaction with the relations and cooperation between the OIC and Thailand, stating that even though Thailand is an Observer of the OIC, 
she has an important role to play. The OIC Secretary General commended Thailand’s
multicultural society, as well as the Thai Government’s policy on economic and social development and education for the Southern Border Provinces (SBPs). The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on political situations and developments in the region and the world, and other issues of common interests. The two sides also discussed ways and means to elevate the Thai - OIC cooperation, and the Thai side expressed her determination to work closely with the OIC Secretariat in identifying areas of cooperation that would be most beneficial for the OIC member countries. On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Thai Government’s invitation to the OIC Secretary General to visit Thailand at a mutually convenient time.
