Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica

On 26 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Manuel Tovar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica together with Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, Costa Rica’s candidate for the next Secretary-General of the United Nations.
On this occasion, Costa Rica sought Thailand’s support for the candidacy of Ms. Grynspan, who previously served as Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), for United Nations Secretary-General.
Both sides also exchanged views on multilateralism. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica expressed the readiness of Costa Rica to support Thailand’s efforts in joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
