On 11 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with U Tin Maung Swe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, on the occasion of the latter's visit to Thailand to attend the Informal Meeting between ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the Myanmar Foreign Minister.

Both sides reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between the two neighbouring countries. They discussed cooperation on border security, environmental issues, particularly river pollution, as well as economic cooperation, with a view to facilitating cross-border trade and enhancing economic connectivity between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on Myanmar's engagement with ASEAN, including developments concerning peace and the national reconciliation process in Myanmar.
