On 29 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered remarks and attended the Thai - European Business Association (TEBA) Cocktail Reception held under the theme “Advancing Thailand - Europe Business for a Future-Ready Cooperation” at The Peninsula Bangkok. The event brought together over 200 participants, including H.E. Mr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and H.E. Mr. Akanat Promphan, Minister of Energy. Also in attendance were Ambassadors from the European Union and European countries, representatives of the European business community, leading European and Thai companies and investors, as well as government agencies and relevant stakeholders.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister outlined Thailand’s foreign policy direction and emphasized proactive economic diplomacy guided by four key principles: strategy, speed, coherence, and effective public communication, with a focus on the interests of the Thai people. He highlighted Thailand’s commitment to strengthening investor confidence and enhancing national competitiveness, as well as the importance of deeper supply chain integration between Thailand and Europe. He also reaffirmed Thailand’s intention to expand cooperation with European partners in key sectors, including digital trade, green technology, renewable energy, science, and research and development, particularly within the framework of the Global Gateway initiative.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the role of TEBA as a vital platform for fostering connections between European businesses and Thai stakeholders. In this regard, he stressed the importance of accelerating negotiations on Thailand - European Union and ASEAN - European Union Free Trade Agreements, noting their significance in driving economic transformation and strengthening supply chain resilience. He encouraged continued engagement with European businesses to advance sustainable, long-term economic cooperation between the two regions.
