On 14 January 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, had a farewell meeting with Mr. Masood Karimipour, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, on the occasion of his completion of duty.

The Director-General expressed appreciation to Mr. Karimipour for his ongoing active contribution in advancing cooperation between Thailand and the UNODC Regional Office based in Bangkok. She also looks forward to receiving support from UNODC in organising activities to promote the implementation of the Bangkok Rules (United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders) on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Bangkok Rules in 2025. Mr. Karimipour commended Thailand’s active role in addressing transboundary issues of drugs and crime at the national, sub-regional and multilateral levels, including in the UNODC framework. Both sides reaffirmed future cooperation in addressing transboundary issues of drugs and crime in the region, amidst challenges in the digital era.
