Director-General of the Department of European Affairs discusses with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand

On 20 June 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand. Both sides discussed the exchange of high-level visits, particularly the 9th Meeting of the Joint Thailand–Russian Commission on Bilateral Cooperation to be held in Moscow by the end of 2025.

They also reviewed the progress of pending agreements and MoUs, as well as expressed their readiness to strengthen collaboration in culture, tourism, economy, and trade. In this connection, the Thai side sought Russia’s support for the initiation of negotiations on a Thailand-EAEU Free Trade Agreement. Additionally, both sides also exchanged views on current international developments.
