On 7 August 2025, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, represented Minister of Foreign Affairs at the reception marking the 65th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, organized by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in Bangkok, at Super Star Arena, Bangkok. The Director-General also presided over the final match of the international football competition and presented the trophy to the winning team on behalf of the Foreign Minister.

The Director-General extended her congratulations to Côte d'Ivoire on this occasion and underscored the dynamic and significant developments within Thai - Ivorian relations, following the official visit to Thailand by H.E. Mr. Léon Kacou Adom, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivorians Abroad, of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in February 2025, as well as the visit to Côte d'Ivoire by the Thai delegation led by the Director-General in July 2025. The Director-General also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire, particularly in the areas of agriculture, trade, investment and development cooperation, and expressed her conviction that the exchange of visits between the two sides earlier this year would help to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
