Director-General of the South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs Department meets with the Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand

On 14 May 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand.

Both sides explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, culture and tourism, consular affairs, and development cooperation, especially in agriculture and human resource development. They also discussed the possibility of convening the 6th Thailand - Nepal Joint Commission (JC) in the near future.

Both sides welcomed the formation of each other’s new government in March this year. They reiterated the continued commitment to working closely together to further enhance cooperation and strengthen the cordial relations between the two countries.
