Director-General of the Department of International Organizations discussed with UNDP Resident Representative in Thailand

On 16 October 2024, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, welcomed and discussed with Ms. Niamh Collier-Smith, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Thailand, on the occasion of her assumption of duty.
 
Both sides discussed ways to enhance Thailand-UNDP cooperation in various areas to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially through the UNDP Country Programme Document (CPD) 2022-2026 for Thailand. Focused areas include green transition, human development, and SDG localization. The UNDP Resident Representative in Thailand also commended the success of the Thailand Policy Lab, a joint initiative between Thailand and the UNDP, and expressed readiness to expand cooperation to support Thailand in achieving the SDGs in other priority areas.
 
DG Pinsuda reaffirmed Thailand’s support for the work of the UNDP and encouraged the UNDP to expand cooperation with all stakeholders to drive forward the SDGs in Thailand. Thailand has also actively engaged in development cooperation with various countries and international organizations through South-South and trilateral cooperation to promote the achievement of the SDGs. On this occasion, the Director-General also invited the UNDP in Thailand to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on various projects, including the preparation of the 2025 Voluntary National Review (VNR).
