On 22 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, on the occasion of the visit to Kazakhstan to lead the Thai business delegation to promote trade and investment.

 

During the call, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs noted the friendly relations between both sides, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Board of Trade of Thailand and QazTrade as well as the progress of various draft agreements such as the agreement on the promotion and protection of investments, the visa exemption agreement, the Thailand - Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement, as well as discussions on cooperation under the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) framework.

 

The Deputy Foreign Minister also presented the letter from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, inviting the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan to pay an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the ESCAP Meetings in April 2024.
