On 13 January 2025, Ms. Jaithai Upakarnitikaset, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, welcomed a courtesy call and had a discussion with Mr. Michael Ronning, Mission Director, USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia.

Both sides discussed USAID’s mission on international development cooperation in Thailand and the Mekong sub-region and exchanged views on opportunities for further collaboration in Thailand and potential trilateral cooperation in areas of common priorities, such as healthcare, environment, combating trafficking in persons, transnational crimes, including online scams.
