On 28 February 2023, H.E. Mr. Héctor Conde Almeida, Ambassador of Cuba to Thailand, paid a farewell call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the completion of his tenure in Thailand.
 
DPM/FM commended the Ambassador’s valuable efforts and contribution in strengthening the relations and cooperation between the two countries in the past 6 years. Both sides reiterated commitment to enhancing cooperation, especially on exchange of visits, including at the high levels on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, promotion of trade and investment, collaboration in biotechnology and medicine, technical cooperation, cooperation on sports and youths, facilitation of travels, and mutual supports in international frameworks.
 
Ambassador of Cuba expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support given to the Embassy of Cuba during his tenure, as well as expressing the confidence that the relations between the two countries would continue to further progress in the years to come.
 
On 7 March 2023, DPM/FM designated Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to host a luncheon in honor of the Ambassador of Cuba on the aforementioned occasion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassadors from the Group of Latin American and the Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) also attended the farewell luncheon.
