Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), headed a group of 20 newly-recruited Foreign Service Officers, comprising of 17 diplomats and 3 Development Cooperation Officers, to Singapore during 13 - 16 March 2023 under the Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP).

During the visit, the delegation attended the training sessions with junior diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and received briefings from senior diplomats arranged by the Diplomatic Academy of Singapore. The Thai delegates also gave a presentation on Thai foreign policy and join activities to build networks with Singaporean diplomats where both sides exchanged their views on each other’s foreign policies and global situations, as well as their working experiences in the field of diplomacy.

On this occasion, the delegation paid a courtesy call to H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, received a briefing from Team Thailand Agencies and the PTT International Trading Office, in Singapore. The group also visited the Sustainable Singapore Gallery and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore. Moreover, the delegation paid a visit to the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy where they received briefing and lectures on Digital Economy Agreement and Digital Diplomacy respectively.

Since the establishment of the CSEP in 1997, the DVIFA and the Diplomatic Academy of Singapore have exchanged visits of respective junior diplomats for 14 times, to strengthen Thailand - Singapore bilateral relations, exchange views, and create a network between their participants.
