H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and his spouse, Professor Peng Liyuan, are scheduled to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) and pay a visit to Thailand on 17 - 19 November 2022.

After participating in the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on 19 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China will have a bilateral meeting with H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, at the Government House and attend a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister of Thailand and his spouse in honour of President Xi Jinping and spouse as well as the Chinese delegation.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Thailand and the President of the People’s Republic of China will discuss and set direction for the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership between Thailand and China, which marks its 10^th anniversary this year, leading towards the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025 and the building of a Thailand - China community with a shared future for enhanced stability, prosperity and sustainability as well as regional connectivity development corridor (outlook), as initially concurred by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both sides during the visit to Thailand by the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in July 2022.  The two Leaders will also jointly welcome the signing of various important documents and bilateral agreements.

This is the first visit to Thailand by President Xi Jinping since assuming office and after being re-elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for a third term at the 20^th National Congress of the CPC in October 2022. H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping previously paid a visit to Thailand as guest of the Royal Thai Government while serving as Vice President of the People’s Republic of China during 22 - 24 December 2011.
