On May 18, 2025, Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul General, and Ms. Sirima Yuwiengchai, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chicago Office, participated in a merit-making ceremony by offering alms to monks and joining a candlelight procession in observance of Visakha Bucha Day at Wat Pa Chicago. The Consul General and her companions also organized an alms booth serving braised pork leg with rice to attendees, alongside other alms booths from Thai temples, local restaurants, and the Thai community.
