On June 14, 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago, along with Team Thailand Chicago, namely the Thai Trade Center in Chicago and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chicago Office, attended the opening ceremony of Thai Festival Chicago 2025 at the location by Lake View, Chicago.

The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Atiorn Kittikote, President of the Thai-American Association of Illinois, followed by welcoming and congratulatory messages from Mrs. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Consul General and Acting Consul General; Ms. Jessica Sewell, representing U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth; and Mr. Michael W. Frerichs, Illinois State Treasurer. The event was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by the honored guests.

The two-day event featured a wide selection of authentic Thai food and products, along with a diverse range of cultural activities presented by local Thai-American communities and distinguished artists from Thailand. Highlights included a performance by Fino the Ranad; a contemporary Northeastern (Isan) music showcase by Tontrakul, a musician from Asia 7, accompanied by Kewarin Saenwang, a modern Mor Lam singer.

The program also featured a Muay Thai demonstration by Parinya Charoenphol (Nong Toom), a Thai fashion show highlighting Thai fabrics and contemporary styles with participation from Thai celebrities and models, a Thai cooking demonstration, a Thai handicraft demonstration, and a raffle drawing with prizes including a round-trip air ticket to Thailand and various luxury hotels. Approximately 30,000 people attended the event.
