On April 13, 2025, Mrs. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Consul General and spouse, Mrs. Urasee Thiratangsathira Jeong, Consul, Mr. Noppharut Baonongbua, Deputy Consul together with Ms. Anoma Vongyai, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chicago Office attended the 2025 Songkran Festival at Wat Buddha Dhamma in Willowbrook, IL.
 
The event was organized by the Wat Buddha Dhamma Temple in collaboration with the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI), aimed to preserve and promote Thai art and culture, allowing the younger Thai generation and international visitors to enjoy and experience in celebration of the Songkran Festival.
 
The Deputy Consul General and officials participated in a merit-making and alms-giving ceremony alongside the Thai community, which included offering alms to monks, listening to Buddhist chants, and offering lunch to the monks. In the afternoon, TCFAI hosted traditional Thai music and dance performances. Attendees also participated in the ceremonial bathing of the Buddha statue and monks, as well as the traditional water-pouring ceremony to pay respect and seek blessings from elders, in celebration of Songkran and Thai National Elderly Day.
