Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Capt. Thammanat Phromphao led a Thai high-level delegation to Chongqing to attend the 9th China–ASEAN SPS Ministers’ Meeting — a key platform for enhancing SPS cooperation between ASEAN and China
He also delivered ASEAN’s statement on ILSTC and visited the Shuangfu Industrial Development Zone, the International Agricultural Trade Center, and major fruit importers to strengthen agricultural, trade, and food-security collaboration between Thailand and China.
Chongqing imports over 1.8 billion RMB per year in Thai agricultural products.
Key items include durian (55%), mangosteen (20%), longan, coconut, pineapple, jasmine rice, and fast-growing processed food products (+15–20% annually).
Chongqing consumers favour Thai fruits for their quality, strong flavour, and trusted safety standards.
ILSTC speeds up delivery by 3–5 days, offering strong growth potential for bananas, fresh vegetables, and Thai processed foods.
