On 2 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired a preparatory meeting on missions advanced during this U.S. visit, with the Thai private sector, led by Dr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C.

The meeting discussed preparations for the Thai business delegation to participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit, organized annually by the U.S. Department of Commerce during 3 - 6 May 2026 in Maryland, and for meetings with the representatives of various sectors in the U.S. to enhance relations and strengthen the mutually beneficial economic partnership with the U.S. They were also briefed by H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., on the latest economic and political developments in the U.S. and exchanged views on ways to drive forward the Thai - U.S. economic partnership and trade negotiations, as well as discussed preparations and priorities for upcoming activities and engagements with the U.S. side in order to maximize and concretize outcomes and benefits.

In addition, the Chairman of the Advisory Board also attended an Open House event organized by the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C., showcasing Thai cultural performances. He visited the exhibition and activity booths organized by Team Thailand agencies and the local Thai community in the U.S. The event, which attracted more than 3,000 participants, was part of the Passport DC: Around the World Embassy Tour 2026, an annual program organized by Washington, D.C., for foreign embassies around the city to showcase their countries and cultures to the local public, which has contributed to strengthening Thai - U.S. relations at the people-to-people level.
