On 20 - 21 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Ho Chi Minh City, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - Viet Nam diplomatic relations.

The Chairman of the Advisory Board met with Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Member of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Both sides welcomed the commemoration marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Viet Nam and discussed ways to promote trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City. The Chairman of the Advisory Board also expressed his appreciation and hope that the Ho Chi Minh City authorities would continue providing strong support to Thai investors in Ho Chi Minh City.

Following the meeting, the Chairman of the Advisory Board co-chaired the opening ceremony of a commemoration event of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - Viet Nam diplomatic relations, featuring a joint cultural performance by performing troupes from both countries, at the Saigon Opera House. He also met with representatives of the Thai private sector in Ho Chi Minh City to exchange views on opportunities and ways to further promote trade and investment between Thailand and Viet Nam.
