On 22 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra organised a merit-making ceremony in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, together with a sandalwood flower offering ceremony, featuring a representative sandalwood flower bouquet, in connection with the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Late Majesty.

The ceremony took place at the Buddhavasa Precinct, Wat Dhammadharo, Canberra, and was attended by Heads and officials of Team Thailand agencies in Canberra, together with their spouses, as well as members of the Thai community in Canberra and nearby areas.

On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, delivered a prayer of devotion in tribute to Her Majesty’s benevolence and, as a solemn expression of mourning, offered the representative sandalwood flower bouquet before the royal portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Following the ceremony, the Royal Thai Embassy will respectfully send the representative sandalwood flower bouquet to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand for onward delivery to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, so that the bouquet be presented at the Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang on the day of the Royal Cremation Ceremony.
