On 27 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Artjoms Uršuļskis, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN–EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Both sides exchanged views on cooperation under the ASEAN - EU framework and bilateral relations. The Thai side emphasized the importance of mutually supporting the free trade system and the rules-based international order, noting that in the current global context, both sides should move towards expediting the conclusion of the ASEAN - EU Free Trade Agreement. The Latvian side concurred and expressed its commitment to further enhancing cooperation with Thailand at both bilateral and regional levels, particularly in trade and investment, digital transformation, sustainable development, energy transition, and cooperation within the framework of international law.
