Director-General of the International Organizations Department attends the Bali Process Steering Group Senior Officials’ Meeting

On 27 August 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, attended the Bali Process Steering Group Senior Officials’ Meeting.

The Director-General delivered a statement on behalf of Thailand, one of the members of the Bali Process’ Steering Group which comprises Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Thailand. The Director-General reiterated the importance of the Bali Process in responding to regional challenges on irregular migration, people smuggling and trafficking in persons. The Director-General also shared Thailand‘s progress on the development of National Referral Mechanism (NRM) and policies related to anti-trafficking in persons, and combating online scams, as well as views on the governance of the Bali Process and activities to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Bali Process in 2027.

The Director-General also had a bilateral discussion with H.E. Ms. Jane Duke, Ambassador to Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking of Australia, and Co-Chair. Both sides exchanged views on the work of the Bali Process and cooperation between Thailand and Australia on such issues as combating online scams, responsible business conduct and climate change.
