On 18 September 2025, Mrs. Hataya Khusakul, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, had a meeting with Mr. Andrew Egan, Minister and Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy in Bangkok. The discussion was to advance the implementation of various plans and activities under the bilateral framework of the Thailand - Australia Strategic Partnership, including the Senior Officials’ Talks (SOTs), the Indo-Pacific Strategic Dialogue (IPSD), and the development of a new Joint Plan of Action (JPoA) that aligns with the interests of both countries and the evolving global context.

Both sides also exchanged views on the possibility of high-level visits and the promotion of cooperation, particularly in areas of mutual interest, especially in creative economy, innovation and education with a view to further expanding collaboration in these sectors.
