On 22 April 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Thailand’s ASEAN Senior Official, led the Thai delegation to the 37th ASEAN-United States Dialogue in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Thailand (1) proposed that ASEAN and the U.S. further strengthen digital economic cooperation, including through the development of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and joint efforts to combat online scams; (2) reaffirmed Thailand and ASEAN’s commitment to working constructively with the U.S. to promote fair and sustainable trade and investment; (3) expressed readiness to continue working with the U.S. to advance the ASEAN-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Permanent Secretary had a bilateral discussion with Mr. Sean O'Neill, U.S. Senior Bureau Official for East Asian and Pacific Affairs and Acting U.S. Senior Official for ASEAN, during which both sides discussed way forward in advancing Thailand-U.S. relations, including on trade-related issues, and also exchanged views on developments in the region.
