On 25 February 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered remarks on behalf of Thailand at the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD12), on the theme “Advancing Sustainable, Inclusive, Science- and Evidence-Based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda and Its SDGs to Leave No One Behind in Asia and the Pacific.”
The Director-General highlighted the importance of actionable, inclusive, science-based, and evidence-driven solutions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also stressed that agile statistical systems and community engagement play a crucial role in bridging data gaps to ensure that no one is left behind.
Thailand launched the SDG Dashboard to provide updates on the status of each individual SDG goal. Various inclusive policies to advance the 2030 Agenda were also highlighted at the APFSD. These include Universal Health Coverage (UHC), which has been enhanced through a participatory platform (SDG3); measures supporting women’s economic participation (SDG5); and the promotion of healthcare access for all migrants, with efforts to regularize undocumented workers (SDG8). In addition, over 100 Locally-Managed Marine Areas (LMMA) have been established, empowering coastal communities to take the lead in marine conservation (SDG14).
