On 13 February 2025, Mrs. Salinee Phonprapai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, hosted a workshop on APEC Projects focusing on the process of APEC-funded projects, with Ms. Estella Ho, Project Coordinator from the Project Management Unit at the APEC Secretariat in Singapore and Ms. Wisarak Poonsombat, Foreign Relations Officer from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, sharing their insights and experiences as Project Coordinator and Project Overseer, respectively. It was attended by more than 40 representatives from the various, relevant Thai agencies.

APEC, as incubator of ideas, has funded over 100 capacity-building projects annually, fostering an open, dynamic, resilient and peaceful Asia-Pacific community according to the Putrajaya Vision 2040. As an APEC member, Thailand can seek funding for projects supporting topics such as digitalisation, MSMEs’ global market access, education, green transition, sustainable tourism, among others.
