On 18 January 2025, Ms. Eksiri Pintaruji, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (ASEAN SOM) held at the Langkawi International Convention Centre, Langkawi, Malaysia, which marked the first ASEAN SOM under Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship, themed, “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

The meeting acknowledged and discussed key priorities under Malaysia’s Chairmanship in 2025 including promotion of peace and security through dialogues and intensifying efforts to strengthen economic integration, as well as prepared for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat scheduled for 19 January 2025. On this occasion, the Permanent Secretary underlined Thailand’s commitment to key issues, particularly sustainable development.
