On 18 October 2022, H.E. Mr. Patrick Hemmer, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation including economic and financial cooperation, and also discussed ways to further strengthen Thailand - Luxembourg bilateral relations and expand cooperation, including trilateral cooperation for sustainable recovery in the post-COVID-19 era. They also exchanged views on various regional issues of mutual interest. In addition, both sides also stressed the importance of the Thai - EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and the negotiations of the Thai - EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which would serve to enhance trade and investment relations between Thailand and Luxembourg.
