Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia and EU Special Envoy for Myanmar

On 27 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Kallayana Vipattipumiprates, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia and EU Special Envoy for Myanmar.
 
Both sides exchanged views on the current situation and latest developments in Myanmar. They discussed ongoing challenges and explored avenues for cooperation to help foster positive developments, including the importance of ASEAN’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus as a key framework to address the situation in Myanmar and underscored the importance of its full and effective implementation.
 
Both sides also emphasized that sustained and constructive engagement by all stakeholders remains essential to strengthening long-term regional security. They thus expressed support for continued cooperation between ASEAN and the European Union in promoting dialogue, de-escalation, and humanitarian assistance. The Thai side reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with international partners, including the European Union, to support efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and inclusive dialogue in Myanmar and the broader region.
