On 8 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, co-presided over the opening ceremony of the Thailand-Cambodia Friendly Football Match at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.

This special match featured well-known artists, celebrities, professional boxers, social media influencers, and legendary national football players from both countries. The event took place at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, with an attendance of around 30,000 people.

This event reflects the strong and cordial ties between Thailand and Cambodia in promoting sports, Dhamma, and culture as instruments to enhance closer people-to-people relations.

This football match was part of a series of activities organised by various sectors from both countries throughout 2025 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia.

On this occasion, both ministers reiterated their commitment to strengthening and advancing the relations and cooperation between the two countries in all dimensions.
