Prime Minister Congratulated the OECD on the 60th Anniversary of the Signature of the OECD Convention

The Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Thailand congratulaed the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on its 60th Anniversary of the signature of the OECD Convention via video message and highlightred three key areas to address COVID-19 challenges.

On 14 December 2020, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Thailand, joined leaders in congratulating the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on its 60th Anniversary of the signature of the OECD Convention via video message (https://www.oecd.org/60-years/testimonials)

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also praised the OECD’s role in advancing the global economy by promoting international norms and standards. The Prime Minister also shared Thailand’s vision on an inclusive and sustainable recovery by highlighting three key areas: ensuring global access to COVID-19 vaccines, medicines, and medical treatments; supporting vulnerable groups through this economic crisis, especially MSMEs, workers in the service sector, and women; and implementing sound debt management policies to foster an inclusive recovery.

Thailand is also collaborating with the OECD under the Country Programme, and is a member of the OECD Development Centre, that has helped enhance Thailand’s competitiveness, strengthen good governance, transparency, and engagement with all sectors of society.
