On 18 June 2019, His Excellency General Surayud Chulanont, Acting President of the Privy Council, hosted a luncheon in honour of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who paid a visit to the Kingdom of Thailand. Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand also attended.

      On this occasion, the Thai and the Bahraini sides underscored the close and special bond of friendship between the two Kingdoms and welcomed the progress made in the strategic areas of cooperation, such as public health, as well as trade and investment. Furthermore, the two sides discussed ways to increase bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and bring people-to-people ties to new heights. His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain also conveyed his congratulations to His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on receiving the Royal Command appointing him the Prime Minister.
