On 8 March 2019, H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar, presided over the Thai Culture and Food Festival 2019 at the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha. This event is an annual cultural activity organized by the Thai Language and Culture School in Qatar, with the support of the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha, Thai business and Thai community in Qatar. The festival featured several Thai products and handicrafts, Thai food, Thai massage and spa, batik art workshop, and Thai cooking demonstration. Many Thai business such as BPF Shopgate, Dusit Thani and Centara Group also organized business promotional activities at the event. This year festival attracted more than 500 visitors including Ambassadors and diplomats, Thai community and their families, Qatari local community, and expatriates living in Qatar. Highlighted in the festival were cultural performances by students of the Thai Language and Culture School in Qatar. Since its establishment in 2009 which marks this year the 10th year anniversary,  the Thai Language and Culture School in Qatar has played an important role in promoting Thai culture in Qatar by providing Thai language lessons to Thai children aged between 4 - 14 years old. Currently, there are 31 students and 7 volunteer teachers at the school. During the opening ceremony, the Ambassador of Thailand to the State of Qatar also presented 50,000 baht funding support from the Royal Thai government to the school for its activities.
