Ministry of Foreign Affairs Supports the Maulid Nabi Celebration A.H. 1440

On 29 March 2019, Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Ministry in the hand-over ceremony of the Ministry’s contribution to the Maulid Nabi Celebration A.H. 1440. The Deputy Permanent Secretary handed-over a contribution of 200,000 Baht to Mr. Manit Thongsaeng, Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee, to support Thai Muslim community in organising the Maulid Nabi Celebration of Thailand A.H. 1440.

On this occasion, the Deputy Permanent Secretary reiterated the importance the Ministry attaches to in supporting Islamic affairs and Thai Muslim community, including Hajj Affairs and Thai Muslim students, as well as the halal industry as a means to enhance the livelihood of Muslim communitites in the country.

Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee thanked the Ministry and reaffirmed the readiness to cooperate with government authorities to further promote other areas of Islamic affairs.

The Maulid Nabi Celebration of Thailand has been organised since 1961 to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, and to laud and recall his preaching and practices. This year celebration will take place during 3 – 5 April 2019 at the National Islamic Affairs Administration Center Chaloem Ohra Kiat, Nong Chok District, Bangkok.
