On 9 November 2018, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, visited Jagiellonian University, by the invitation of the Rector of University, to give a special lecture at the Institute of the Middle and Far East. With the lecture titled “Thailand: Moving Forward with Dynamism,” Ambassador Sahussarungsi focused the presentation on Thailand’s outlook both in terms of geographical and economic aspects, as well as Thailand’s economic potentials and competitiveness of which Thailand shared the similarity with Poland. She also highlighted Thailand’s development policy and prospects according to the 20-Year National Strategy and the policy of Thailand 4.0, aiming to move Thailand toward a value-based and innovation-driven economy. Furthermore, on the same day Ambassador Sahussarungsi met with Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Wojciech Nowak, Rector of Jagiellonian University. They discussed and exchanged views on the educational cooperation between Jagiellonian University and Thai Universities which was going on for many years, as well as future cooperative projects such as exchange program of students and university staff, and the idea to open Thai language class at the Institute of the Middle and Far East.
