On 4 March 2019, H.E. Mr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Thailand paid a farewell call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, upon the completion of his tenure in Thailand. The Foreign Minister commended the Ambassador’s active role in strengthening the relations between the two countries. Both sides noted the warm and cordial relations which continued since the inception of diplomatic relations 60 years ago. Both sides also reiterated the people-to-people ties based on age-old cultural and religious affinities that serve as a solid foundation for strengthening the bilateral cooperation.
Both sides discussed opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation, with a view to promoting trade and investment, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, as well as strengthening political relations through exchange of high-level visits. The Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude for the role of Thailand in relief and recovery efforts to Nepal after the disastrous earthquake in 2015. The Ambassador also expressed his appreciation for the continued technical and development assistance rendered to Nepal
